Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has described Wednesday’s Supreme court ruling affirming his victory in the March 9 governorship poll as an opportunity for him to continue on his resolve to ensure accelerated development of the state.
Makinde made this declaration at Ibadan Airport just before embarking on a thank-you tour around the state capital on Thursday.
While calling for support for his administration, Makinde assured that residents of the state were bound to get more from his administration, in a matter of time.

“During the electioneering period, we prepared a document on the accelerated development for Oyo State. So, this victory is an opportunity for us to continue on the path of accelerated development for the state, so the people should expect more from us,” Makinde said.
Speaking further, Makinde saluted the judiciary, noting that he always was positive that the truth about his victory in the last governorship poll will prevail.
Addressing a large crowd at State Secretariat, Makinde assured that the state’s workers will get the 13th salary on the 26th of this month.
According to Makinde, those who challenged the result of the March 9, 2019 election in the state, which the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won by an unmistakably wide margin, were peddlers of lies.
“I have always known that truth will always prevail no matter how long lies have been peddled.
“I want to specially thank Justice Adumein, the Justice of the Court of Appeal, who stood by the truth.
“When the case got to the Supreme Court, because the truth is constant, they stood by the truth,” Makinde said.
