An army personnel, two passengers including a police traffic warden, on Saturday, died in an auto crash in Warri, Delta State.
The accident involved a black colour Toyota Land Cruiser with Reg no: KSF738AT and a Suzuki Every Mini Bus with Reg No: PTN442XA painted with the state’s blue and white colour.
The accident occurred at a bridge near Texaco Junction along the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) Expressway.
The soldier and the traffic warden, whose identities have yet to be disclosed as of press time, were reportedly in the commercial minibus that runs town service.
The auto crash was allegedly caused by the driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser who, being on high speed, rammed on the public transport minibus which had stopped for a passenger to alight.
A witness, Tega Akpokere, who spoke with Nigerian Tribune, in pidgin gave a gory detail of the tragedy.
“The thing happened around 12 noon this afternoon when the jeep jammed the bus enter the water.
“Them rushed some of them go hospital, people when dey the jeep, na faint them faint, na the bus people army man, and other ones na die,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Delta State, Mr Rindom Kumven, in a telephone chat with Nigerian Tribune, confirmed the incident.
He said six make adults were involved in the accident that was caused by over speeding of the driver of the Toyota Land Cruiser.
Three, including the army personnel and traffic warden, died while three other adult male sustained injuries.
Kumven said the accident occurred at about 9:00 a.m while his men from the Warri Unit Command, got the hint and rushed to the scene at 10:05 a.m.
He further disclosed that “The victims were rescued and taken to Ekpan Hospital and Warri Central Hospital by the combined team of FRSC and the Nigerian Police.
“Among the dead victims were a Soldier Man, a Police traffic Warden and a Civilian.
“The corpses have been deposited at the Warri Central Hospital while the vehicles have been towed to Ekpan Police Division,” Kumven disclosed.
