The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, on Friday, called on people of Benue State to sustain support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed in his implementation of the renewed hope agenda.

Akume stated this at Wanune, headquarters of Tarka Local Government Area of the state, when he handed over fully renovated structures he facilitated through the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to the community.

The SGF donated the UBEC, fully equipped with an ICT laboratory structure, to the LGEA Primary School Wannune, the primary school he attended, to the Education Secretary, Tarka Local Government, Mr. Aondoakaa Kwaghbo.

He said, “Today is a very great day to me, and very fulfilling too, as it sparks off some beautiful and well-cherished memories of my life.

“My journey to stardom began here many decades ago. The renovation of the entire school structures and a fully equipped ICT Laboratory is part of my little contribution to the growth of my alma mater, and the education of the state generally.”

Akume, therefore, rallied support for Tinubu’s reform agenda, saying, “I want to admonish you to continue to support my principal, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Commander-In-Chief of the Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“He has initiated life-changing initiatives that he alone has the drive and capacity to implement for the betterment of all citizens.”

The SGF rolled out the Federal Government projects ongoing across the country to include the Makurdi-Katsina Ala Road reconstruction, Badagary-Sokoto Highway, Makurdi-Otukpo-Ninth Mile Road, Lagos-Calabar Super Highway and Enugu-Onitsha Express Way, among other road infrastructures.

Receiving the school structures, Kwaghbo appreciated Sen. Akume for the modest donation and stressed the importance of education as a bedrock for meaningful development to thrive in all societies.

The Executive Secretary, Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC Hajiya Aisha Garba, who performed the handing over ceremony, appreciated the SGF for his thoughtfulness in facilitating the project, and the warm reception granted the UBEC delegation.

Other members of the UBEC team included: Director Physical Planning, Engr. Sadiq Saad, Mr. Ibrahim Gold, SA to the ES and Mr. Rasaq Juwon Akinyemi, Deputy ES Technical UBEC.
