An indigenous organisation, IBILE Eko, comprising eminent scholars and professionals from the five divisions of Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe in Lagos State, has expressed readiness to host the 2021 edition of its annual IBILE Eko Summit.
This year’s edition, according to the chairman IBILE Eko Summit group, Prince Adelani Adeniji-Adele will focus on the state of Lagos State with a view to providing tools and strategies to redefining the Lagos agenda for a better IBILE.
Themed, “Strategic planning of socio-cultural development of Lagos State and regional agenda: An indigenous perspective”, the summit, he stated, is a vehicle for indigenes of Lagos state to address pertinent issues concerning the socio-cultural development of the state and to reawaken their interests in the filial and historical heritage of the state.
He added, “The IBILE Eko Summit Group is an indigenous organisation of passionate Lagosians drawn from across the 5 IBILE divisions of the state, who are majorly concerned with the development and sustenance of our collective heritage as indigenes of Lagos state. The summit will engender discourse for the glory of a better IBILE: Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe.
“The summit is a vehicle for indigenes of Lagos State to address pertinent issues concerning the socio-cultural development of the state and to reawaken their interests in filial and historical heritage.

“The IBILE Eko Summit 2021 which is scheduled to hold on the 30th of October at the Eko Club Surulere, Lagos at 10 a.m. prompt, will have in attendance distinguished personalities and students of Lagos State (IBILE) origin. The program will be streamed live on social media via zoom to thousands of Lagos state indigenes and interested viewers across the globe.
“Accomplished scholars and public affairs dignitaries of Lagos origin will speak on relevant topics, notably Prof. Adele Jinadu, who will deliver the keynote address while Prof. Fola Tayo (Pro-Chancellor, Caleb University), Mr Olasupo Shasore, SAN, a former Attorney-General of Lagos state and Dr Olawale Lawal (Lagos State University) are on hand to do justice to our cause.”
