A 29-year-old sales representative, Alexandra Chidolue, who allegedly stole N3.8 million worth of pharmaceutical products from his employer, on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
Chidolue, who resides at 15, Ayodele St., Ojo, Alaba, a Lagos suburb, is facing a two-count charge of obtaining by false pretences and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Asp. Clifford Ogu told the court that the accused committed the offences between 2017 and July 2018 at 12, Adewale Crescent, Oshodi, Lagos.
Ogu said that the accused stole the products belonging to Geneith Pharmaceutical Company.
“He was given some drugs valued at N3.8 million to supply to a customer in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. He delivered them but failed to remit the money into the company’s account.
“It was when the account was audited that it was discovered that N3.8 million was missing and the case was reported to the police,” he said.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 287 stipulates a seven-year jail term for offenders.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr J. A. Adegun, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Oct. 22.
