The factional leader of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Professor Sule Bello, is dead. Aged 73, he died in Zaria on Sunday after a protracted illness.
A family source who confirmed his death said his funeral will take place later in the day in his private residence in Kano.
Until his death, Professor Bello was a staff of the Department of History of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
He was a factional leader of the PRP recognized by the founder of the party late Balarabe Musa.
The family of Balarabe continued to support his leadership even after the death of its founder.
It was gathered that on Saturday, the late Professor was billed to deliver a lecture at Nigeria’s independence anniversary organised by a youth group in Kano but he sent a representative in his stead.
