The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 General election, Mr Peter Obi, has advised Christians to keep praying for the growth and development of the country.

Obi, who spoke when he paid a special Christmas visit to an oil mogul, Dr Michael Onuoha, at his Casa De Gracia country home at Umunakara community in the Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo, on Wednesday urged Christians not to lose hope in the Nigerian project.

Describing the billionaire oil magnate as his family friend, the former Anambra governor explained that his visit to the state was to felicitate with the Onuoha family on the yuletide season.

He said: “This is a private visit. I am here to see my friend, Chief Michael Onuoha ( Eriri Ego Ndi Igbo) and his family but I am surprised many people came out to receive me. I will visit again”.

He assured that as Christians, people will not lose hope pointing out that the season is very significant and people must keep praying for Nigeria.

He said: “This season signifies love. We must show love to people and to our dear country, Nigeria. To my dear brother, Chief sir Michael Onuoha, your beautiful family and kinsmen, thank you for hosting me. I will visit again.”

In his responses, the oil magnate, Chief Michael Onuoha thanked Mr. Obi for finding time to visit, saying that the ex-governor’s humility had continued to distinguish him from other Nigerian leaders.

He said; “Your excellency, we are happy to have you in our midst in this season. Though your visit was unannounced, but people came out and were excited to receive you. That is to tell you that you are a leader of men. We will continue to trust in Nigeria and pray for the unity, advancement and stability of our country. Thank you for coming.”
