Katsina State Police Command has rescued seven kidnap victims and recovered stolen items in two separate operations.
The police command, in a statement issued on Wednesday by its spokesperson, Abubakar Aliyu, said a distress call was received on Wednesday morning about an attack on Yan Shantuma village in Danmusa Local Government Area.
Armed bandits had kidnapped three people, stolen 23 goats, and other valuables during the attack.
However, a joint operation by police and community vigilantes led to a gunfight with the assailants, forcing them to flee.
All three victims were rescued unharmed, and the stolen items were recovered.
In a separate incident on Tuesday, police in Safana Local Government Area rescued four people who were abandoned in a vehicle by suspected kidnappers.
A gun battle ensued, leading to the rescue of the victims, who were subsequently taken to the hospital for medical attention.
