Kogi State police command has arrested four suspected kidnappers and armed robbers terrorising the state.
The Police Public Relations spokesman, DSP William Ayah in a statement issued, on Thursday said
following a credible intelligence that, suspected kidnappers/armed robbers who have been terrorising Bassa Local Government and its environs.
He noted that they were sighted in a compound at new Jarusalem Oguma area in Bassa, Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Bassa Division led by the DPO promptly swung into action, stormed the compound and arrested them.
The suspects were Guda Dangana, Dogo Chure, Dekina Zhiya and Samson Nyizo all from Bassa Local Government.
Items recovered from them includes; one locally made Pistol, one 7.62mm ammunition, one cartridge, one G3 ammunition and two human skulls respectively.
According to him, all the suspects made useful confessions on series of criminal activities within the Bassa axis. Suspects will be arraigned in court on the completion of the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police CP Idrisu Dauda Dabban while commending the prompt response of the officers, assures members of the public that, Kogi State Police Command in collaboration with other security agencies in the state will not rest in its oars on the continued onslaught against criminal elements in the state and to ensure that, Kogi State remains the safest the state in Nigeria.
