Police finger 13 arrowheads behind rising thuggery in Kano metropolis

The Kano State Police Command has said that 13 key suspects were allegedly fingered to be behind the increasing spate of thuggery activities in the metropolitan Local Government Areas.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, a copy made available on Sunday to the press in Kano.

According to the statement, those people identified as arrowheads include Halipa Here, Sheye Injiniya, Yusuf Ilu, Walidi Auwalu Kapinta and Tijjani Rattagu.

Also, others, were Agiri Balarabe, Dan Kasuwa,Dan Makare, Nasuru Madadi,Hali Pan Pan, Jamilu Piye,Saiyid Zawai and Inyasi.

The command statement disclosed that these suspects, known as “Yan Daba,” have been linked to phone snatching and infliction of life-threatening injuries on unsuspecting members of the public, including women and children.

However, the Command urges these individuals to report to the Bompai State Police Headquarters or face arrest and prosecution per the law.

The Command further stated that the Command has already intensified its efforts to combat the resurgence of thuggery in Dala, Gwale, and Kano Municipal Local Government Areas.

However, the statement said the Command reassures the public that the security of life and properties is the top-most priority.

The Commissioner of Police Mr Husaini Gumel then appealed to the community to remain vigilant and cooperative in preventing and reporting criminal activities.
