Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 4 suspects who were alleged to have robbed a serving Commissioner in the Adamawa state government.
The commissioner, Muhammed Sadiq Wali was attacked on his official vehicle as well as other valuables by the suspects.
The operatives of the command have also succeeded in recovering the stolen Toyota Hilux, Barretal Pistol, 3 live ammunition, 2 Anti-trackers, Handsets, and foreign currency among others.
The suspected armed robbers include Salihu Buhari 38, and Abdullahi Abubakar, 35, residents of Garoua in Cameroon Republic, Isa Adamu, 55, Tudun Wada, Sokoto State and Mustapha Muhammed, 47 of Lelewalji, Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa state.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, made available to Nigeria Tribune in Yola, said that the suspects were arrested on the 12th of February 2024.
“The culprits were arrested by a combined team of police operatives attached to Girei Divisional Police Headquarters after attacking the house of the affected Commissioner and robbing him of his car among others.
“The success followed an operational strategy introduced by the command to checkmate criminal activities such as armed robbery, shilla gangsterism, and kidnapping among others within and outside the state capital, and assured that the suspects will be prosecuted.“
