DETECTIVES attached to the Edo State Police Command are presently trying hard to unravel the circumstances surrounding the possession of two pump action and unlicensed double barrel guns by a 47-year-old graduate of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State.
The suspect, Mr Wilson Iriajien who claimed to be an international businessman was arrested by detectives from the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 5 headquarters in Benin and paraded Tuesday in Benin.
Iriajien who told journalists that the double barrel rifle was an inheritance from his deceased father who passed on in 2004, however, admitted that the pump action guns were for self-protection.

The suspect confessed that during his time at Ambrose Alli University in the 1990s, he was a member of the “Eiye Confraternity but has since renounced his memberships of the dreaded cult group.
The police spokesman, Mr Emeka Iheanacho disclosed that besides the guns, other items recovered from the suspect included Apple laptop, three international passports and wrapped substance suspected to be Indian hemp.Iheanacho added that investigations into the arrest were still ongoing, assuring that the suspect will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
