THE remains of the late Lotin of Ondo Kingdom and the Chairman of the Credit Switch Technology Limited, Chief Ope Bademosi, were on Friday, committed to mother earth at the St. Stephen Church, Ondo, amid tears, eulogies and tributes.
The late Bademosi was allegedly stabbed to death by his domestic staff some three weeks ago in his Lagos residence while the suspect had since been arrested by the police and investigation was ongoing.
Speaking during the funeral service at the Cathedral Church of St. Stephen, Ondo, the Bishop of the Ondo Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Bishop Stephen Oni, called on every Christian to live their lives as ordained by their creator while alive.
Bishop Oni urged the people to walk in the way of the Lord saying every individual would give an account of how they live their lives saying people should live and prepare to meet their creator at any time.
He said: “Anybody can go at any time but when you go how would you want to be remembered. What would be your account before God? What are the things you do that will make people remember you?
“God has a purpose of sending us here and has the final say about our living, whatever happens, is nothing hidden to Him and must take it and see it as from Him who created us.

He said the value of life was in its application in things we do and described the deceased as an inspirational leader.
He said: “Death gives us the opportunity to evaluate our relationship with Him whenever death strikes, so we should be prepared to meet out creator anytime and what matters most is to walk in the way of God.”
“Both the rich and the poor will taste death, this world is a passing phase and whenever death strikes, it gives us all the opportunity to evaluate our relationship with God.”
He, however, prayed for the soul of the departed, urging the people to pray for the family and things left behind.
The immediate former governor Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, described Chief Bademosi as an eminent and patriotic son of the town who was always ready to contribute to the development of the kingdom
He said: “He is a patriotic Ondo son, he is loved by everybody, he is everybody’s friend across all age groups, across social strata.
“I am sure this community would miss him a lot. He is just a wonderful fellow. This is also a reminder that this is all mortal men.
“He was at home, for the community to have cancelled the annual Ekinmogun Festival, which is unprecedented, is a sign to the extent to which we hold him in high esteem in this community.”
May his soul rest in peace
May God in His awesome power never allow the mastermind of the cruel and sordid crime know peace until they are fished out
