PDP claims of valid political structure in Plateau self-consolatory — APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted the claim by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State that it has fully complied with a court order to organize another state Congress, dismissing it as self-consolatory. The APC insists that the PDP lacks a structure in the state.

In a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Mr Sylvanus Namang, the APC described the PDP’s assertion of being the most structured political party as a customary self-consolatory outburst that diverges from the actual situation on the ground.

The party highlighted that an interview given by the former Governor of Plateau State and a member of the PDP Board of Trustees, Sir Fidelis Tapgun, has not only revealed the truth but has also laid bare the extent of the lies and false claims regarding the PDP’s valid structure.

“In his characteristic bluntness, the elder statesman, a man of great honour and well-respected in the state and nationally, admitted in the interviews that the PDP does not have any valid structure, having failed to comply with the court order. In his summation, he said, ‘The PDP has lost its soul; locusts have eaten up everything.’ What further evidence do we need to contradict the statement by the PDP BOT Member, who is the conscience of the party?” the APC questioned.

The state chapter of the APC alleged that, after previous failed attempts at manipulating the judiciary through sponsored protests and street demonstrations, there is a grand plan by the PDP to sponsor violence in the state under the guise of “the mother of all protests” ahead of the Supreme Court judgment in a matter of weeks.

Therefore, it called on the security agencies in the state to be on high alert to prevent any untoward developments that might exacerbate the security situation in the state.
