The National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Oyo State chapter, on Tuesday, inaugurated its credential committee towards its forthcoming elections.
The inauguration took place during the August congress of the association which took place at the NUJ press centre, Iyaganku in Ibadan.
The committee which had its first meeting after the congress had as its chairman, Morenike Tony-Esan from the FRCN chapel, Bunmi Osoteku of the Voice of Nigeria as the secretary and Ojo Aboyede from the State Information chapel as a member.
The committee is saddled with the responsibility of creating a seamless process in all activities leading to the conduct of the election; sales of form, screening of candidates as well as the election itself.
Speaking after the inauguration, the chairman of the committee, Morenike Tony-Esan, stated that the committee will do its assignment without fear or favour, reiterating that the committee is committed to being fair to all.
She solicited the support of members in ensuring the committee has a smooth process.
Earlier, the chairman of the association, Jadesola Ajibola, had called on members not to engage in any untoward act that may malign the image of any member in the name of election, urging everyone to remember that NAWOJ is one family and will remain one even after the election.
