Executive Director (Engineering and Technical Services), Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) Limited, Mr Ifeoluwa Oyedele, has debunked the news doing the round that he had announced his intention to contest the governorship of Ondo State next year.
Oyedele made this clarification in Abuja, while speaking with newsmen.
He said the newspaper that published the news of his expression of interest in the gubernatorial race must have given a wrong interpretation to his current active media presence.
He added that there was no time he ever announced at any forum that he would contest governorship in Ondo State.
He also denied granting any interview to journalists in Akure.
“Let me reiterate that I did not tell anyone that I would run for governor in Ondo State next year. This is perhaps a misrepresentation of my recent active presence in the media. It is on record that I recently sponsored radio jingles to congratulate all elected candidates on the platform of APC in Ondo State from the National Assembly to members of the State House of Assembly,” Oyedele said.

He further said it was not in his character to jump political gun, adding, however, that he expressed joy for the success of APC in the state House of Assembly election.
He said the victory necessitated the need for him to have congratulated Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and expressed gratitude for the support given to the governor by citizens of the state on radio and television advertisements.
The NDPHC executive director lamented that the newspaper publication might have been intended to pitch him against Governor Akeredolu and to probably cause disaffection between them.
Oyedele said he remained a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and would not be deterred from working for the success of party at the state and national levels.
