Osinbajo to flag off 2020 police game in Anambra Saturday

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is expected to​ flag off the 2020 Police game in Anambra State on Saturday, 29 February 2020,  where about 10,000 athletes are to participate.
This was​  made known by Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Force Headquarters, DCP  Frank Mba on Wednesday while briefing journalists via telephone during a press conference held in  Awka, Anambra state to herald the upcoming exercise.
According to him, the vice president has confirmed his attendance at flagging off ceremony billed to take place on Saturday.
“His presence at the opening ceremony is just to establish the importance of the game to Nigerians,” he said.
He said the game will help to expose many youths to several sporting activities and create job opportunities for people of Anambra state.
Mba also called on the journalists to give the game wider publicity because it would bring the younger ones in close contact with the great sports individuals in the country.
The PPRO said that about 10,000 people will be attracted to the game and thereby create a lot of job opportunities and the internal Revenue of the state.
He said the game has produced who is who in the police and the society.
According to him, Sports today is a big business and must be encouraged for our development.
Also speaking, the Police  Sports Public Relations  DSP. Nkiruka Nwode said the police game is a unifying factor that  Nigerians must be given total support.
She urged the journalists in the state to participate actively in the game for a successful outing.
Nwode urged the journalists covering the event to remain security conscious while on the field.
