Osinbajo meets Gen Abubakar’s Peace Committee

ACTING President Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday met with the National Peace Committee led by former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

With Abubakar were other members of the Committee including Catholic Arch-Bishop of Abuja Diocese, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Hassan Kukah, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe (rtd) among others.

The meeting started at about 4pm and ended two hours later.

The former Nigerian leader declined comments on the purpose of the meeting only saying that the delegation was only on a courtesy visit to the Acting President.

The National Peace Committee set up during the 2015 General Elections, it hard worked to ensure a peaceful conduct of the general election and consequently, a peaceful transition of power.
