Over the past year, Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the people of Ondo West Constituency 1. As a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary, he has worked tirelessly and drive positive change in his constituency.

Achievements and Activities

1. Legislative Contributions:

-Anti-Land Grabbing Bill: Sponsored the Anti-Land Grabbing Bill, also known as the Prohibition of Forceful Entry of Illegal Occupation of Landed Properties. This important bill is at the second reading stage. The bill is intended to curb the high level of theft and sometimes harassment faced by land owners on their property.

-Successfully lobbied the executive arm during the 2024 appropriations bill window to insert specific major inner roads into the 2024 appropriation bill. They include Lotogbe Community Road (Ward 7), Asoloeso Street, Orimolade Road (Ward 11), and Mosafunwonto Street (Ward 9).

2. Oversight and Participation:
– Actively participated in legislative activities and performs oversight functions, ensuring accountability and proper governance. As the chairman of the House Standing Committee on Works, Ogunwumiju was instrumental in calling the government’s attention to the dilapidated Owena-Akure Road, which prompted the intervention of the Ministry of Works Direct Labor Department. As a result, the road was rehabilitated within the agreed time frame.

3. Educational Support:
– Provided financial aid to student bodies, including the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), Adeyemi Federal University of Education chapter, and the Federation of Ondo Ekimogun Students Union (FOESU) National body.
– Supported the annual interhouse sports competition for primary and secondary schools in Ondo West Constituency 1, promoting extracurricular activities that add value to students’ lives.
– Paid school fees for constituents, ensuring continued education for those in need.

4. Economic Empowerment:
– Provided financial aid to constituents to support their businesses, enhancing local economic growth.
-Empowered constituents with two vehicles to aid their businesses: one Ford and one Honda truck.
-Facilitated a coaching job for constituent in Sunshine Stars, Akure.
-Amidst economic hardship, engaged in an empowerment exercise by distributing 1,500 kg of cooking gas to 500 constituents.

5. Health and Welfare:
– Paid medical bills for constituents in need, ensuring access to necessary healthcare services.
– Offered financial support to youth bodies to aid in community development efforts.

6. Infrastructure Development:
-Constructed a water fetching system(well) at Oke-kuta area, Ward 9.
– Rehabilitated a borehole at Ajegunle, Yaba, Ondo, providing clean water to the community.
– Upgraded toilet facilities at Moferere Market, Ondo, improving sanitation and hygiene.
– Graded and repaired failed portions of roads within the constituency, enhancing transportation and safety.

7. Community and Religious Support:
– Provided financial support to both the Muslim and Christian communities, promoting religious harmony and support.
– Actively participated in and financially supported traditional and community festivals, including Odun Oba, Ogun Carnival, and Ekimogun Day celebrations, preserving cultural heritage and community spirit.
