As good as the Big Brother Naija reality show is (encouraging competition, learning how to live with others as well as display of culture and knowledge), the winner takes all at the end is not a good practice, even for the spirit of the show
I watched the final lap of the show and the presentation of award to the final selected winner and I saw how despondent other housemates were at the presentation ceremony. I could read their minds that the yardstick for declaring a single winner that takes all is jaundiced and shrouded in mystery
To encourage fairness, three finalists should win in categories of first, second and third position and the package should be distributed in that order.
Otherwise the ten-week stay in the Big Brother house will be seen as a waste of time by the participants and viewers would also not read fairness in the otherwise relaxing show.
