Barely 48 hours ahead of the Olu of Warri’s coronation, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Ari Muhammed Ali, has deployed 1,000 cops to provide adequate security for a hitch-free exercise.
CP Ali, in a statement signed by the Ag. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, on Wednesday, assured the “police personnel will ensure a watertight security before, during and after the coronation ceremony.”
Tribune Online reports that the coronation of the 21st Olu of Warri, Omooba ‘Tsola Emiko, the Olu-designate, comes up Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the ancestral home of Itsekiris, Ode-Itsekiri.
Speaking further on the preparation ahead of the Saturday event, CP Ali said “two bomb squad has been deployed to report 48 hours before the coronation day to sweep the venue and ensure it is completely rendered safe, two-unit of mobile police personnel and conventional police officers which include traffic personnel have been deployed.
“This is to ensure a water-tight security.”
The CP, however, warned mischief makers to steer clear as the command is more than ready to deal decisively with anybody who tries to disrupt or cause any form of mischief during the coronation.
“All that needs to be done to ensure that the event is hitch-free and devoid of any form of violence has been put in place.”
CP Ali has also “directed the Area Commander, Warri, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Operations Officers of the Command to leave no stone unturned towards ensuring a thorough supervision of personnel deployed for the actualization of peace and tranquillity during and after the coronation ceremony.”
“The CP, on behalf of his management team, officers and men of the command wish the people of Warri and Deltans a peaceful and hitch-free Coronation ceremony,” the statement concluded.
