Okowa felicitates Olu of Warri on first coronation anniversary

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Vice-Presidential Candidate and Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, on the first anniversary of his coronation.

Chief Press Secretary, Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba in a statement, lauded the monarch for making the Warri Kingdom peaceful and conducive for investment since ascending the throne of his forebears.

Okowa said that the monarch had, within the period, also been instrumental in some economic initiatives to rejuvenate commerce in his domain.

He, therefore, described Atuwatse 111 as “a man of peace, a bridge-builder with profound integrity” whose tenure so far was already recording a positive turnaround in the lives of his subjects and the kingdom.

He commended the revered royal father for his unwavering support for good governance and the reawakening of consciousness for civic responsibility, and for rallying his subjects in that direction.

He expressed conviction that the monarch was a great beacon of hope for his people and encouraged him to remain steadfast on his mission to ensure that the people have good life and peace in the state.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I warmly congratulate His Royal Majesty, the Olu of Warri, Atuwatse III, on the occasion of his 1st coronation anniversary.

“I join the people of Iwere nation in celebrating a great monarch and wishing him good health, wisdom and strength as he continues with the responsibility of leading his people traditionally and culturally.

“In the last one year on the throne, Atuwatse III has provided exemplary and impactful leadership by living above board, while remaining as the rallying point and inspiration for the Itsekiri people in particular, Deltans and Nigerians in general.

“I must commend your dexterity in keeping and managing the culture and tradition of Iwere people by promoting harmony, socio-cultural cooperation, communal living and peaceful co-existence among the Itsekiri and other ethnic groups in the state,” the governor stated.

He urged the king to hold God first in all his endeavours and prayed that the Almighty Father would give him long life and good health as he shepherds his people traditionally and culturally.
