Chairman of the Ofomata foundation, Ofomata, argued that the donation, especially the ICT tools would boost the capacities of orphans in the orphanage homes.

The gesture, which he noted was simultaneously done across the country, would reduce the level of dependency of citizens on the system as their minds would have been developed to meet varying economic needs and make them solution providers to these challenges.

The event which was part of the social responsibility act of the foundation nationwide witnessed the launch of a donation box where members of the society can make donation for the orphans and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in the country.

Ofomata said Nigerian companies to harness public donations that can change the life of an orphan or a Nigerian in an IDP camp because among them are destinies that could emerge leaders of the country with time.

“Human capacity building is what you can do for anybody. I feel that empowerment or human capacity development is the best thing you can do for anybody. We must understand that it is very expensive.

“It looks insignificant, we have invested in human capacity development over the years. That has brought us to where we are today, so, that capacity training has become sacrosanct for us.

“The government cannot do it all, I realize long ago that that the difference between you and I, is just knowledge. Without that knowledge we can not go anywhere.”
