The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered a warehouse used for the storage of illicit substances in the Rounder area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics, Haris Musa, and made available to the Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday.

Operatives of the command, acting on a tip-off on Tuesday, discovered a haul of Cannabis Sativa concealed inside a Honda Ridgeline pickup vehicle.

Musa said a 49-year-old man, Fatokun Rahmon, was arrested in connection with the crime.

He added that a total of 347 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa was recovered from the suspect, stressing that the command remains steadfast in sustaining its mandate to curb the menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

The statement read:

“Just three days to the close of the year, the NDLEA Ogun State Command inflicted another crushing blow on the drug trade, further affirming its unwavering commitment to the suppression of illicit drug trafficking within the state.

“Acting on actionable intelligence, operatives of the command on December 28, 2025, at about 10:00 p.m., conducted a targeted operation at Rounder, Abeokuta, Ogun State, where a warehouse used for the storage of illicit substances was uncovered. During the operation, operatives discovered a haul of Cannabis Sativa concealed inside a Honda Ridgeline pickup vehicle.

“The operation culminated in the arrest of one Fatokun Rahmon (male), aged 49, while a total of 347 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa was recovered.

“This decisive interception highlights the operational alertness, intelligence-driven strategy, and relentless enforcement posture of the command, even as the year drew to a close.

“The command remains steadfast in sustaining this tempo as part of its mandate to curb the menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.”
