FORMER President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Friday, held a closed-door meeting with the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, at his Ogbomoso palace in Oyo State.
Chief Obasanjo, who arrived Ogbomoso at about 6:05 p.m., was in company of the former Secretary to the Oyo State government, Chief Olayiwola Olakojo and was received at the palace by the senator representing Oyo North Senatorial district and Chairman Senate committee on ICT and cybercrime, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari.
The ex-president was ushered into the main palace as he exchanged pleasantries with the Soun of Ogbomoso. Few minutes after, Chief Obasanjo was hosted in the dining hall at the palace.
Oba Oyewumi and Chief Obasanjo, sources informed Sunday Tribune, held a brief meeting.
According to a source, the two leaders gave no hint on the topic of their discussion.
However, one of the dignitaries, who said he was not at the meeting, hinted that “it may not be unconnected with politics, unity of the South-West and Nigeria.”
Meanwhile, there was a drama when Senator Buhari was introducing dignitaries to the former president. When it got to the turn of the only Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) federal lawmaker in Oyo State, Honourable Segun Dokun Odebunmi, the former president was quoted as saying, “ I know him but is he doing well? If he is doing well, let him continue but he may need to change platform.”
