NYSC, NOA, others join Nationwide march against corruption in Anambra

The National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Anambra Civil Society Network, National Orientation Agency (NOA) and Officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), among other human right groups in Awka, on Friday joined the Nationwide March against corruption in the country.

It could be recalled that the Economic and Financial Crime Commission has partnered the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), to hold a nationwide march against corruption, saying Nigerian youths must be in the forefront of ensuring transparency in Nigeria.

Addressing participants shortly after the walk at the popular Aroma junction Awka, the Anambra state coordinator of the NYSC, Chief Kehinde Aremu, appeals to Nigerians in respective of Tribe, religious or political affiliation to rise up and support the country’s crime agency in the fight against the menace for the sake of unborn generation.

Added that, if we didn’t fight unitarily to killed corruption, corruption would eventually kill Nigeria in no distance time.

He said because of the level of corruption, the chances of Nigeria before international communities are been eroded.

He urged Nigeria youths not to allow any corrupt leaders around them to ruined their future for any reasons.

Also speaking, Mr Michael Nzekwe, an official from the EFCC department of Asset Forfeiture Abuja, who disclosed that the match, was the first since it establishment, said the sensitization walk is in line with section 6 of the law that permits the commission to organised programmes especially for the Youth about the danger of corruption in the society.

He also called on the corps members serving in Anambra state to always mobilize and educate people in their host communities about the negative effect of corruption.

On his part, the Chairman, Anambra Civil Society Network, Prince Chris Azor, said the match, will serve as a platform to sensitise and mobilise Nigerian youths to reject the evil of corruption that has bedevilled the country.

The Nigeria Police Force, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and some concern Human Right we also part of the anti-corrupt crusade.
