FORMER Minister of Information, Chief John Nwodo, has been elected the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
Nwodo, from Enugu State, defeated Professor Chinweite Ejike from Enugu State by 242 to 13 votes. Chief Hillary Opara was elected unopposed as deputy president-general, while Uche Okwukwu emerged secretary-general of the association, having polled 166 votes to defeat Isaac Nwowu and Joel Nwoha, who polled 63 and seven votes respectively.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Nwodo said he would take the organisation to the next level, while he commended the delegates for the support.
