Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Wednesday arrested two persons for alleged conspiracy, illegal encroachment and illegal mining in the state.
The Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in the state, DSC Adigun Daniel, made this known via a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo on behalf of the NSCDC boss in the state, Commandant Emmanuel Ocheja.
The statement gave the names of those arrested on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Iperindo, while carrying out the illegal mining activities as Ogunmokun Joshua and Amos Danjos.
Commandant Emmanuel Ocheja who affirmed that the suspects would definitely be charged to court at the expiration of investigations stated that such acts deny the government of revenue earnings that could be used for socio-economic development of the State meant for the common good of all and sundry.
He however warned all criminal-minded persons in the state to relocate from Osun.
