The former governor of Anambra state and Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Peter Obi, has decried the current high debt profile which the present federal government administration of President Mohammadu Buhari plunged the country into.
He said it was quite unfortunate that Nigeria was owing $30 billion some time ago and our creditors cancelled the debts for the nation to move forward and now this present regime has plunged us into a deeper debt profile to the tune of $80 billion, an indication that the nation is collapsing.
Obi who spoke inside Onitsha prisons during the 65th Birthday ceremony of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Catholic Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Most Rev Valerian Maduka Okeke, said over 13.5 million Nigerian children are not in school, just as unemployment rate is nothing to write home about.

He contended that his choice as the vice president does not in any way call for celebration because the situation of Nigeria as of today requires an aggressive approach to ameliorate the situation, adding that if elected as vice president, he would personally work for the renovation of all the schools in the country.
He stated that even if the children of our political leaders have the privilege to go to school abroad, and the rest of children of the less privileged ones could not go to school due to the collapsed system in education and in every other sector, when the children of the leaders come back to Nigeria, the non educated majority would overwhelm them.
He commended Archbishop Okeke for building a skill acquisition center for the Onitsha prison inmates and expressed concern that half of the inmates were not supposed to be here in the prison custody, but for the sake of the collapsed system.
Earlier, Archbishop Okeke who celebrated mass inside the prison, had explained that his desire to build the N30 million skill acquisition was borne out of the need to educate the inmates and teach them some skills so that when they come out of the prison, they could become useful to themselves and the society, based on the skills they must have acquired from the prison while serving their jail term, as obtained in other developed countries of the world.

What is Obi coming to do as VP if Nigeria is so much indebted as he has said?

Today I want to write about a major concern that has been troubling my mind. it’s something that I don’t know if this current government thinks we NIGERIANS aren’t thinking about. because they have consistently push out trivia issues to the public space, knowing that we will blindly argue those issues and neglect the real issues. issues that are affecting our economy and our lives.

it sits at almost $80 per barrel.
Now, what’s that troubling issues that have been giving me sleepless nights? it noon other than the “excess crude sales”. Nigeria federal government, proposed an oil benchmark of $45 per barrel for it’s budget for 2018.
Some financial experts on Friday faulted the increase in the oil benchmark of the 2018 appropriation bill from 45 dollars to 51 dollars by the Senate. The financial experts told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the increment was not needful, while reacting to the appropriation bill passed by the National Assembly.
now crude oil has been selling for over $50 dollar per barrel since December of 2016. were is the excess crude sales money going to. we haven’t heard of any
“excess crude account”. we haven’t heard of any “sovereign wealth fund account”. so where is our excess crude sales money going to. if you calculate the differentials since 2016 at the rate of about 2million barrel everyday, you will find out it’s running into billions of dollars. oga Buhari where is za money?
He will blame Buhari just like Buhari has blamed our ancestors for everything.
