Right Reverend Dr Joseph Olusola of Ijesa North East Diocese, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has declared that Nigeria belonged to God and not to any ethnic group or religion.
He made the declaration last Sunday at the 60th-anniversary thanksgiving service of Immanuel College of Theology, Samonda, Ibadan.
According to Bishop Olusola, everyone should look unto Jesus Christ, Who has shed His blood for the whole world, especially for Nigeria.
“And to the victims of killer herdsmen, I pray that God will comfort them. There will be divine intervention in Nigeria and soon and very soon, God will heal our land,” he prayed.
Olusola, who trained at Immanuel College of Theology, urged members of the community to minister Christ to this generation, stating that the forbears of the college had one focus –preaching the Kingdom of God among men, adding that all priests should continue to do same.
He, however, restated the need for Anglicans and the Methodists in the college to be united in purpose, in love and in all they do.
Bishop Olusola, whose 56th birthday coincided with the 60th anniversary of the college, stated that the celebrations were a blessing, more so that the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr S.C.K. Uche, was at the service.
“I am glad. I am celebrating the fact that God has been faithful. God, through this institution, has made us what we are,” he stated.
