The Director General of the Nigerian Federation of Social Scientist Ini Stephen Ogenecaro approved and commenced the disbursement of the NiFESS Scholarship Bursary Batch A1 to 100 beneficiaries today 25th December 2023 Sponsored by Hanaini Constructions. The Nigerian Federation of Social Scientist announced the NiFESS Scholarship and Grant Trust Fund on the 20th of November 2023 and commenced application for the undergraduate scholarship bursary, this initiative is describe as a response to the unavailability of Scholarships and Grants to students and professionals of the Social Sciences field. In order to create a sustainable opportunity for Students, Graduates and Professionals of Social Sciences in Nigeria, NiFESS is championing strategic partnerships with NGOs, Private organizations and the Government to improve the spectrum of financial opportunities made available to Social Scientist in Nigeria.
The director made it known to the media earlier this morning of the Christmas that it is a coincidence that the first batch and first stream of disbursement was scheduled on the 25th of December 2023, in words “It is amazing that we scheduled disbursement for the first batch stream one today, it didn’t really occur to us it is Christmas, probably because we were engulfed by the programs we had at hand that we forgot there is a celebration attached to the date regardless of the fact that we are Christians, we were just focused on the job that brings relief to our Undergraduate members. We use this opportunity to also wish every member of Social Sciences across Nigeria a Merry Christmas. The application for NiFESS Membership and Scholarship remains open till next year, our goal is to empower 10,000 undergraduates before the end of 2024.”
The NiFESS Undergraduate Scholarship application still remains open to every undergraduate of Social sciences across Nigeria.The Director General in his statement “This initiative is a response to the inadequate financial aid and sponsorship made available to social sciences students undergoing studies in Nigerian universities, for this reason we have created the NSGTF as a platform where these students and professionals (members of NiFESS) can access financial aid for every academic session”. This creates an opportunity for undergraduates to excel in their academics in order to build a global workforce of social scientist.
The NiFESS Scholarship and Grant Trust Fund is a financial reserve backed by private organizations and NGOs to help cushion the effects of the Nigerian Economic vulnerability by offering financial aid to 10,000 (Ten thousand) students and professionals of social sciences and related courses/faculties. This initiative is a response to the inadequate financial aid and sponsorship made available to social sciences/management students undergoing studies in Nigerian universities, for this reason we have created the NSGTF as a platform where these students and professionals (members of NiFESS) can access financial aid for free for every academic session. These aids include: Undergraduate Scholarship, Undergraduate Final Year Research Project, GrantPost-Graduate Scholarship, Post-Graduate Research Grant of up to 1,000,000 NGN (Depending on the financial needs assessment and approval from the NiFESS Scholarship and Grant Board) Research Grant for Doctorate Degree of up to 3,000,000 NGN (Subject to budget approval from the NiFESS Scholarship and Grant Board) Fellows Research allowance: Open to only Fellows of NiFESS. Fellows can access Grants of up to 10,000,000 NGN for Cross continental and International research projects, and integral research works for National Growth and Development.
