Yoruba youths under the aegis of Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide, greeted the news of the return of President Muhammadu Buhari with a call on the National Assembly to set up a panel of physicians to ascertain the health of the president.
The Yoruba youths’ council made this call at a press conference on Friday, through its President, Mr Oladotun Hassan.
Speaking, Hassan said the panel comprising the President’s chief physician and four health personnel should be mandated to enable Nigerians to be abreast of the health status of their President.
While expressing surprise at Friday’s arrival of Buhari, Hassan maintained that Buhari be allowed to continue his rest if he is deemed not healthy enough to continue the business of governance.
“The arrival of the President came to us as a surprise. Nigerians are entitled to information about their President so he should submit himself to a panel constituted by the National Assembly comprising the President’s Chief physician and four other health personnel to check his health.”
“The health of the President is paramount to all Nigerians and if he is not healthy enough, we should know. We think our President needs a lot of rest.” Hassan said.
Furthermore, the Yoruba youths urged Buhari to be careful about upturning the policies of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, as acting President, to prevent suspected ill will.
Meanwhile, the Yoruba youths’ council will, on March 18, convoke a conference to examine how the Confab report should be implemented and the imperativeness of constitution review.
