The High Command of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced on Monday that airstrikes conducted by the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have successfully neutralized numerous terrorists.
The operations also destroyed a key arms depot and the residence of a notorious kingpin, Mallam Saleh, who is a loyalist of Dogo Gide.
These actions took place in Palele, within the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
This information was provided in a statement to defense correspondents in Abuja by the NAF Spokesperson, Air Commodore Olusola F. Akinboyewa, Director of Public Relations and Information.
According to the statement, “Saleh’s reign of terror had plagued vulnerable communities in Shiroro, with attacks, abductions, and extortion leaving a trail of fear.
“However, the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA had been tracking his movements, gathering crucial intel to dismantle his operations.
It stated that “as NAF aircraft swooped in, terrorists on motorcycles were spotted in the target area.

According to it, with swift and precise action, the NAF assets unleashed devastating strikes, obliterating the weapons cache and dealing a crushing blow to the terrorists.
“A secondary explosion confirmed the destruction of the munitions, crippling Saleh’s capabilities.
It explained that the bold operation was part of the NAF’s logistics strangulation strategy, aimed at decimating terrorist strongholds and restoring peace to the region.
It added that while collaborating with surface forces, the NAF would maintain dominance through constant patrols, situational awareness, and targeted interdictions.
It affirmed that the impact of this particular mission would be significant, degrading the terrorists’ operational capabilities and protecting innocent lives.
