Veteran actress Stella Damasus in a hilarious post, left Nollywood fans in shock, after she revealed the correct pronunciation of her name, after years of themmispronouncing it.

The post which she shared via her Instagram page @stelladamasus, was an inserted meme with a caption that read,

“Me to Nigerians: My name is Stella DAMASUS not DAMASCUS

Nigerians to me: perish that idea”.

Stella captioned the post, “Wahala dey o Twitter people are just learning the correct spelling of my name. My Instafam are you people in this WhatsApp group too??? #StellaDAMASUS #SundayFunday”.

One stubborn fan @ruthdenzel commented “Aswear mama perish that idea. DAMASCUS forever”.

Another fan @jamil-hajaj wrote, “How is the SUS pronounced, sos or soos?”

Following the star’s revelation, many other fans have insisted that they will continue to call her Damascus and not her correct name, even after she released a video teaching them how to pronounce Damasus.
