40-year-old Malam Abubakar Adam whose has eight children are among the abducted students and staff of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School in Ungwan Danlami Community of Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, has urged the Federal and State Government to ensure the release of the kidnap victims.
Adam whose wards consist of six males and two females said he and his wives have been devastated since the abduction by a group of armed bandits on Sunday, May 31, 2021.
The businessman stated this in an interview with the Tribune Online within the school premises on Tuesday.
He said: “I have eight children among the abducted students of the Islamic Bank School. Seven of them are students of the school while one is a teacher. They are two females and six males altogether.”
Malam Adam stated further that “we have been more prayerful, more united as a family and have been begging God. So that the children and the other victims can be released to us safely.
“I’ve been begging my wives and the other aggrieved parents, especially mothers to be patient. We don’t sleep at night and they always fall sick because they don’t eat.”
Adam, however, said the parents of the abducted school children and their teachers will not relent in the passionate appeal to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to kindly assist with the payment of the ransom demanded by the abductors.
“Honestly, we don’t have the huge amount demanded from us by the bandits for the release of our children and the staff of the school. Our prayers are that God should touch the hearts of the abductors of our children to have a change of hearts,” Adam added.
