THE Mega Progressive People’s Party (MPPP), at the weekend, elected Mr Dare Adekola as the chairman of the Ekiti State chapter of the party.
At a congress in Ado Ekiti at the weekend, the party also elected Mr Francis Owoeye as the deputy chairman while three vice chairmen for the senatorial districts of the state were also elected.
For the post of vice chairmen, Mr Ajibola Olayinka was elected as vice chairman, Ekiti North; Samuel Awe for Ekiti Central and Kehinde Fadayomi for Ekiti South, while Olatoye Aliu emerged as the secretary among the 27 officers elected for the new party.
Adekola in his acceptance speech on the occasion, thanked the delegates for electing him, and promised that his door would be open for all in the state.
He said the party was focussed on improving the economy of the country and “especially the economy of Ekiti State because the economy is not working and there is the need to revive it, especially through agriculture.”
A national officer of the party, Yomi Ogunmodede, supervised the congress while the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was represented at the congress by its Election and Party Monitoring, Mr Austin Orogbu.
