The outgoing governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, on Thursday, said he has left the state in good hand saying the spirit of cooperation will continue to exist in the state.

Mimiko who stated this during the handing over ceremony to the incoming governor of the state, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu at the governor’s Office, Alagbaka Akure, charged the incoming administration to sustain the existing peace in the state.

Mimiko, who attributed his achievements in all sectors to the peace in the state reiterated that peace is synonymous to development  of any growing nation or community.

He said: “We have been able to go this far because of the peace in the land and cooperation of our people and it is my believe that you will achieve a lot in the midst of peace.

He assured Akeredolu of his support saying I will continue in my own little way to pray for you and will be ready to assist you in any area.

The incoming governor, Akeredolu, commended the out going administration of putting in their best to ensure seamless transition.

He commended Mimiko and his cabinet for changing the face of Ondo State saying ” I have said this once and I am going to repeat it here today that you have done very well and contribute your own quota.

“I know that the task ahead is not something I can take for granted and I know it’s not going to rosy. You’ve done well and I am very sure history will judge well and its time for Aketi to contribute his own quota too”

We will always need your assistance and we believe you won’t refuse to give us so that the state can move forward. You’re not helping Aketi with these assistance but helping to move Ondo state forward.

Political leaders across the two political parties were  present at the handing over ceremony.
