The Middle Belt Forum, MBF, has urged Benue people to reciprocate the sacrifice made by the State Governor, Samuel Ortom to defend the land from being overrun by Fulani herdsmen.
Recall that governor Ortom’s administration had enacted the Anti Open Grazing Law to stem ceaseless killings in the state.
President of MBF, Dr Pogu Bitrus who stated this in Makurdi when speaking with newsmen was of the view that a second term for Governor Ortom would ensure the sustenance of the momentum and invariably serve the interest of the people of the state better.
Dr Bitrus said that the forum decided to support governor Ortom after a holistic assessment of the performance of his administration in the past four years.
We have assessed the performance of the Governor of Benue state Mr Samuel Ortom and have concluded that he has met the purpose of government by providing security and welfare to our people.
Dr Bitrus who alongside members of the forum urged the people of the state to turn out en masse to exercise their franchise and by so doing enthrone a government that had prioritized the collective safety and wellbeing of the people as being championed by the incumbent Governor.
