This is as a result of an incident that happened in October 10, 2022, where a man had stopped and refused to support the education of his daughter Miss Diamond Chikodi Martins due to her sexual orientation as LGBTQ member.
From the information gathered from one of the law enforcement officers, we learnt that HRM Eze Martins reported her daughter to the police authority in order to disassociate himself from his daughter who engaged in LGBTQ+ activities. Her father sees this act as an abomination and also against the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which is punishable under the law and such a person can be arrested and prosecuted by law enforcement agents.
The information gathered by our reporter shows that Diamond’s secret was leaked by his father’s friend’s daughter who is based in the same school in Canada.
Diamond’s sexual orientation had contravened the law because it was not in consonance with the constitution of Nigeria.
However, our reporter gathered that her father is being careful for fear of being attacked by members of the community. According to one of the police Officers which sorted to remain anonymous, he said her father had failed in his responsibility to train his daughter and prevented her against the illicit acts. HRM Eze Martins is nowhere to be found as at the time of our report.
