Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has conferred the instruments of office upon six newly appointed traditional rulers in the state.

The recipients of these honours hail from various communities within the Oke-Ogun geopolitical zone of the state.

Among the newly installed traditional rulers are Chief Oyelowo Joseph Oyetunde, now bestowed with the title of Apeerin of Saki, and Prince James Okanlawon Adigun, who assumes the position of Lasigbon-Kinnikinni of Saki.

Additionally, Alhaji Jimoh Adeola Ayiki has been designated as the Baale of Oke-Oro, while Alhaji Raimi Aiki Boorepo assumes the role of Baale-Iya of Saki.

Also receiving recognition are Oba Abiodun Oyerinde Owolabi, now known as Oyekuleyin l, the Onibise of Ibise-Otu, and Chief Thomas Opoola Olaore, who now holds the title of Ariina lll as the Baale of Komu.

The instruments of office were presented to the traditional rulers between Thursday and Friday. Makinde, represented by Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola, while presenting the instruments of office to the traditional rulers, charged them to work with their subjects for the development of their communities.

He also revealed that the government is addressing matters related to insecurity, land grabbing, and illegal mining in the region, urging the monarchs to ensure the safety and habitability of their domains.

“It is a great pleasure to present the instrument of office to the newly installed traditional rulers and to address this august gathering briefly on the occasion,” he said.

“I urge you to work together as one indivisible entity for the progress and development of your various towns, and also, the security and well-being of the people living in these various communities must be paramount because, without the people, the community can not stand.”
