Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Monday led other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the flag-off of the campaign for the August 16 Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election.

Makinde, speaking at the rally held at the popular Bodija Market in Ibadan, urged residents to leverage the achievements of his administration over the past six years as a key campaign strategy.

The governor stated that his administration has positively impacted the people of the state through the award and execution of developmental projects across various local government areas.

He added that with Folajinmi Oyekunle as the party’s candidate for the forthcoming election, the PDP has what it takes to win.

Makinde declared that candidates of other political parties have nothing tangible to campaign with, unlike the PDP.

According to him, “I want you to go out en masse to vote for our party’s candidate. He has been tested and proven to be a worthy candidate. His wealth of experience will be brought to bear if voted into office.

“Next Saturday’s election will be a no-contest, as our candidate will defeat the others convincingly.”

The rally was attended by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Adebayo Lawal; former Deputy Governor Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi; Hon. Stanley Olajide; and other party chieftains.
