The United States has issued a fresh advisory to Nigerian students enrolled in American institutions, warning that failure to comply with visa regulations could lead to revocation of their student status and ineligibility for future U.S. visas.
The notice, shared on Monday by the U.S. Mission in Nigeria via its official X handle, cautioned students against dropping out, skipping classes, or leaving their programmes without proper notification to their schools.
It emphasised the importance of adhering strictly to visa conditions in order to avoid immigration complications.

The statement reads, “If you drop out, skip classes, or leave your program of study without informing your school, your student visa may be revoked, and you may lose eligibility for future U.S. visas. Always adhere to the terms of your visa and maintain your student status to avoid any issues.
This development follows an earlier warning from the U.S. government that individuals who engage in visa fraud or support illegal migration could face criminal prosecution and a lifetime ban from entering the country.
The U.S. Mission noted that the government has stepped up interagency collaboration aimed at tackling immigration fraud and protecting its borders.
