Make Oni, Ekiti interest your motivation, Oni’s campaign group charges APC delegates

THE campaign organisation of Chief Segun Oni, National Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming governorship election in Ekiti State, has charged delegates to the party’s primaries to think of the collective interests of the state in their choice of a candidate.

The Director-General of Segun Oni Campaign Organisation (SOCO), Dr Ifeoluwa Arowosoge, who gave the charge during a meeting of the group with their supporters, in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, reiterated that “the collective interests of the people of the state should guide their choice of candidate by the APC delegates.”

A statement by the media aide to Chief Segun Oni, Mr Steve Alabi, quoted Dr Arowosoge as urging “everyone, particularly, those posting comments on social media platforms to continue to promote the party, President Muhammadu Buhari and Segun Oni to the delegates with a view to increasing the number making Oni their choice.

“Let us put in more efforts in promoting our party, APC and the President in the efforts to fight corruption, insurgency, militancy and growing the economy. As we can see that corruption is fighting back and the fight-back will be more severe now as we have entered the year of election, but victory shall be ours and Nigeria shall be great again.”

“So, let us be resolute and be consistent in support of our great party and our President. In the same vein, now that we have about three months before the primary elections, all our Campaign Councils must be functional to an optimal level and all hands must be on deck to do the work.”

Delegates were said to have spoken their minds at the meeting with a consensus reached to work more assiduously to get more delegates to line up behind Chief Oni to achieve total victory in the primaries.

A retired Permanent Secretary and Secretary of the Elders Forum of the party in Ekiti State, Chief Abiodun Ajayi said the primaries required deep reflection from every delegate to enable them to make the right choice that would restore Ekiti State to its days of glory.

Another retired Permanent Secretary, Dr Dare Ojo admonished delegates to subject aspirants to critical examination to discern one of the attributes most acceptable to the larger populace.

After extensive deliberations, the meeting resolved to continue to campaign vigorously for Chief Segun Oni so as to enable him to win the Ekiti State APC governorship primaries in April hands down.
