Dotty Fashion has recently launched a stunning collection of designs crafted from an array of beautiful lace fabrics. The ‘Love and Lace’ collection offers a perfect fit for various occasions, including weddings, evening soirees, birthdays, and more.
“Love and Lace, the collection”, was launched in a private event at the brand’s main office in May 2024, and models, fashion designers, fashion lovers, fabric sellers, and socialites were in attendance.
“Love and Lace, the collection” has styles such as gowns, boubou, tops, shorts, skirts, and blazers. One such beauty is a floor-length lace gown, which has ruffles from the elbow of the sleeves and all to the end of the dress. There was also a blouse and wrapper that seemed to have been designed for older mothers who wanted to look fashionable yet elegant and matronly.
The blouse in this piece is designed with added boning to give structure and fit while also maintaining the beauty of the blouse, which is then paired with an undergarment and a simple wrapper. There was another empire waist gown with round neck bell sleeves and ruffles. The round neck on this dress has some creases to add to the beauty.
Aside from the dresses described here are so many other simple, elegant, and matronly gowns. The CEO of Dotty Fashion, Osagie Elizabeth, explained that the idea behind “Love and Lace, the collection” was because of her mother’s love for lace fabrics and how other women of her mom’s age group often loved the fabric. Still, most of them often went for only blouses and wrappers with little to no design, thus making them look plain. She hopes that the dresses in this collection will be liked by other women as her mom and aunts really liked them. Elizabeth further details her experience with creating this collection, which she said was quite tasking for her as she had to combine her skills as a fashion illustrator with her tailoring skills. She had to do extensive research to determine the perfect fabric to use as undergarments, and this, in itself, required extensive research and testing before she settled on cotton as the fabric of choice.
Dotty Fashion did a great job on this collection, as it will be talked about for a long time amongst the middle-aged and older adults who were part of the fabric sellers. A lot of the attendants mentioned how appealing the styles were to them based on the simplicity of the designs. This gives quite a lot of confidence in Dotty Fashion, not only for those who seek the blend of high fashion and culture but also for those who seek individuality.
