Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has handed over a sum of N263,327,800 to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State being money recovered from suspected treasury looters in the state.
It is recalled that the commission had given the governor about N300 million on two separate occasions, as part of money recovered from suspected treasury looters in the state.
Speaking at a brief hand over ceremony at the zonal head office of the EFCC in Ilorin on Tuesday, the commission’s zonal head, Isyaku Sharu, said that the alleged looters siphoned about N5billion from the state internal revenue service and the 16 local government areas, “and shared in the ratio of 70/30 per cent by some notable individuals in the state through their cronies”.
