As part of their Da’awah activities, a delegation from the Lugbe Muslim Ummah Islamic Trust (LMUIT), Abuja, last Sunday visited and assisted patients on admission at the General Hospital, Sabon Wuse, on Kaduna Road, in Niger State, with varying sums of money to support their treatment.
The delegation was led by the chairman of the organisation, Alhaji Suleiman Ahmed Zazzagawa, and the Ameer Da’awah, Malam Abubakar Yelwa.
The visitors were received and conducted round the hospital wards by the hospital’s Staff Affairs Officer, Malam AbdulRahman Muhammad.
Speaking during the visit, Zazzagawa explained that the visit was part of the organisation’s annual activities to assist patients in various health facilities and even those receiving treatment at home.
According to him, the cash donation, which he did not disclose the total sum, was meant to defray the cost of medication.
The chairman informed that the gesture was made for the sake of Allah (Fisabbillahi) only, and urged individuals and corporate entities to support the LMUIT’s Da’awah activities.
Zazzagawa further disclosed that the Trust had designed an annual programme of activities, including visits to orphanage homes, hospitals, prisons, taking care of widows, scholarship for the indigents, preaching and interfaith dialogue.
Also speaking, Malam Yelwa, while soliciting support from well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies, said LMUIT would equally appreciate words of encouragement, prayers, support, contributions and materials and cash donations to enhance its activities.
“Any kind of support can be forwarded to the Lugbe Muslim Ummah Islamic Trust. Our bank account number is 1002074257, Keystone Bank,” he said.

Conducting the visitors round the hospital wards, the Staff Affairs Officer of the hospital, Malam Muhammad, lamented that poverty is worsening the condition of in- and out-patients.
He commended the LMUIT for its routine timely interventions, and solicited more assistance to patients and the hospital to deliver quality services.
Apart from the money donated to patients, prayers were made for the quick recovery of patients, both in and out of the hospital, while the visitors also offered prayers for peace, unity and development of Nigeria as well as for donors who facilitated the visit.
