Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, on Thursday matriculated no fewer than 9,706 students.

The institution also awarded scholarship to the best 100 Level student for the 2021/2022 academic session, Oyewale Stephen Oluwatobi, of Medicine and Surgery Department.

This was contained in a statement forwarded to the Nigerian Tribune by LAUTECH’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Lekan Fadeyi.

The statement explained that the matriculation ceremony, which was held at the Great Hall and Amphitheatre, was presided over by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu.

It read: “In recognition of his performance, Oyewale Stephen Oluwatobi, who was admitted by  LAUTECH with UTME score of 302, and Post UTME score of 74.2 percent was awarded scholarship by the institution.  Record of his performance in the department indicated that his CGPA is 5.0 and a cumulative score of 837 out of 1,000 marks.

“The Vice Chancellor,  Professor Kalilu announced a scholarship for Oyewale, spanning the duration of his undergraduate studies in the university and urged the matriculating students to be committed to their studies to justify the investment of their parents on them.

“He assured everybody at the ceremony of LAUTECH commitment to producing top grade manpower towards enlisting Nigeria in the race for a commendable future, “the statement concluded.
