The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira is set to initiate school feeding palliative for pupils in public primary schools across the district.
The council boss made this known during his tour of primary schools in the council area.
According to him, the tour is aimed at identifying public primary schools that require rehabilitation and infrastructure upgrades.
While reiterating the commitment of his administration to rehabilitating infrastructure in public primary schools, he stated that the safety of teachers and pupils are priority of his administration.
He added, “I am optimistic that this rehabilitation effort would lead to an increase in school enrolment of pupils in public primary schools.
“Also, plans are underway to initiate a school feeding program. This is designed as palliative for the pupils. If you could recall we have distributed food items to residents to ease the burden occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy.
“This school feeding initiative is another phase of the relief programme. It is aimed at addressing hunger among pupils by engaging the services of local food vendors, ensuring that children have access to nutritious meals during school hours.
“These initiatives highlight the commitment of Itire-Ikate LCDA to providing quality education and a safe learning environment for all students. By addressing infrastructure challenges and implementing innovative programs like the school feeding palliative, the council aims to enhance the overall educational experience for its residents.”
