Ahead of ward congress of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) slated to hold, on Saturday, nationwide, the Lagos State chapter of the party has held statewide stakeholders’ meeting across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas towards achieving acceptable consensus and cohesion for the overall good of the party.
The meeting, according to the party’s spokesman, Hon Seye Oladejo, was sequel to the directive handed down by the national caretaker committee of the party to bringing party leaders and members together to rubs minds on the forthcoming congresses scheduled to hold July 31.
“Stakeholders at the various meetings held so far have agreed on the desirability for a consensus arrangement that would consider all interests and unite the party as we countdown to the next national elections,” he said.
At the stakeholders’ gathering held at the premises of Surulere Local Government, leaders, members and loyalists of the party thronged the council secretariat in solidarity for the consensus option adopted by the party.
Loyalists and members in attendance were admonished to participate actively in the congresses and uphold party discipline at all times while newly sworn-in Local council chairmen, vice-chairmen and councillors expressed their unalloyed commitment and appreciation to the party leadership, members and the electorate for the mandates assigned to them to serve the good people of the state.
