Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa has described the victory of the party in last Saturday’s governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi states as a testament that will of people remains the ultimate in a democracy.
In his statement over the conduct of the elections issued in Ilorin on Monday, the APC chairman said that “it is no mean feat to win elections in Nigeria today”.

Hon. Bolarinwa, who congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state and Mr David Lyon of Bayelsa state for their resounding victories in the governorship elections, said that they should work for their people.
He called on the Kogi governor-elect to see his victory as a clarion call to redouble his efforts and prioritise welfare of Kogi people in his second term, while urging the Bayelsa governor-elect to be conscious of his jinx breaking victory which he said was a pointer to the fact that no matter how entrenched any political party or officeholder is, the people ultimately determined who governs them.
He also praised resoluteness of the party members who, he said, went through thick and thin to reassert the will of the people.
